Students will learn about Angel Island and Chinese immigration to America. The Angel Island Webquest uses an engaging website that allows students to explore Angel Island Immigration Station and learn about the Chinese who immigrated to the United States between 1910 and 1940.
The webquest contains 42 questions and is a great way for students to learn more about the following topics:
• What was Angel Island used for?
• What was Angel Island like for immigrants?
• Chinese immigration to the United States
• Racism and discrimination in the late 1800s and early 1900s
• Chinese poetry
• Personal Stories of Chinese immigrants
An answer sheet is included for the teacher. The webquest takes most students one class period to complete depending on the age of your students. Feel free to modify this activity if needed to fit the needs of your students. I highly suggest this webquest for students in grades 5-12. I suggest checking out the website before making your decision to buy this webquest.
