Character education is vital to the success of our students. Employers report that the qualities for which they are looking when hiring include the “soft skills” that are character education.
This is a 27 slide READY-TO-USE LESSON (no prep) PowerPoint presentation lesson that covers the topic of ANGER MANAGEMENT- PHYSICAL AGGRESSION - COPING WITH ANGER, and how it related to school success and friendship. I have included links to 10 Different links to videos to support the information you are presenting. These are videos that you can mix or match or even skip, if you want. That is the beauty of being able to personalize this lesson for yourself. It is easily adapted to teach different levels ranging between kindergarten to fifth grade.
Concepts that were covered in this lesson included:
• Definition of anger
• Paying attention to how one's body feels
• Ways to respond appropriately
• The consequences of using physical aggression
• Coping mechanisms / Cool-down strategies
Additionally, I have included many different links to 31 additional activities that you can utilize to practice anger management skills.
I have found that videos are very effective in helping students to create an emotional link to the abstract concepts that character education involves. Coupled with discussions in which you can assist students to make the connection, it is an easy and effective way to teach these difficult concepts and assist students to internalize them into their own personalities.
This presentation includes 27 slides which have transitions, clip art, and animations to help to hold your students' interest. It is easily personalized and customized and includes a master slide that you can copy and paste into the location where additional information is desired.
You may want to rearrange the slides to make this presentation fit your needs. I have them arranged the way that makes sense for my students, but that may not be the best way for you.
Web sites are NOT embedded, but are links. I do not own them or control them, so if there is a problem with a broken link or something else, please let me know so that I can repair, replace, or fix the presentation for you. Anytime you have technology incorporated, you risk having related issues.
