Description

Extensive ALL digital guided lesson for the angle measures within triangles and parallel lines cut by transversals.

The slides are scaffolded to build understanding. Students will progress from gathering information concerning angle measures of triangles and angles created when a transversal passes through parallel lines. The guided slides will begin with identification, move towards assisted practice, and conclude with independent practice.

Slides include...

♦ Definitions and Visual Representations

♦ Solving for Angle Measures of a Triangle

♦ Identifying Angles:

→ Linear Pair

→ Same Side Interior

→ Same Side Exterior

→ Vertical Angles

→ Corresponding Angles

→ Alternate Interior

→ Alternate Exterior

♦ Solving for Angle Measures when Parallel Lines are cut by a Transversal

♦ Solving Algebraically Angle Measures when Parallel Lines are cut by a Transversal

♦ Solving for Angle Measures when Parallel Lines are cut by Transversals forming various Triangles
♦ Forming Informal Arguments to Prove Angle Measures

30 interactive student slides are included along with a teacher's guide and answer key.

The Angle Measures Interactive can be used as an introductory lesson, guided practice, or culminating task.

Prove theorems about triangles.
Prove theorems about lines and angles.
Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.
