It's an Angle Relationships Mystery! Students are given 6 mystery problems. Each problem has been answered incorrectly. First, students must PROSECUTE the wrong answer by explaining why it is wrong. Next, they must find the correct answer and DEFEND it by showing all of their work. Mystery problems include vertical angles, linear pairs, complementary angles, and supplementary angles. Equations include variables on one side and both sides of the equal sign.
This activity is great for practicing congruent angles versus supplementary angles. It could be used when the content is first introduced or as a review for the unit or upcoming units. This activity addresses the mistakes that students make when solving problems involving angle relationships.
Students learn from their mistakes. Hopefully, by addressing the mistakes they will not make the same mistakes again. It's Math on the Spot!
