Using geometry vocabulary is necessary for being able to describe two-dimensional shapes as well as to sort and classify them by attributes. Students need exposure and effective practice to gain an understanding of this sometimes overwhelming vocabulary. This Google Slides® resource provides practice with types of angles.

WHY USE THIS GOOGLE SLIDES RESOURCE FOR TYPES OF ANGLES?

This digital math resource for Google Slides® gives students an opportunity to practice while reinforcing the geometry vocabulary for understanding angles. This digital notebook for geometry includes Google Slides® for right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles. The students practice identifying these geometry forms while then applying what they’ve learned to solve problems. This Google Drive® resource is meant to complement your geometry lessons.

HOW IT WORKS

• Assign the Google Slides® file to students via email or Google Classroom®.
• Then students interact with the slides.
• Some slides feature an embedded animation which reinforces the attributes of right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles.
• Then the student works on four different tasks for each.

• Identifying Right Angles (or acute angles or obtuse angles)
• Defining and Drawing Right Angles (or acute angles or obtuse angles)
• Understanding Right Angles (or acute angles or obtuse angles)
• Observing Right Angles (or acute angles or obtuse angles)

• There are four tasks each for right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles for a total of 16 tasks and a total of 24 slides.
• On the slides, the students interact with the slide by either entering text or using the Google Slides® draw tools. There are two support "Tech Tip" slides to show the student how to use the Google Slides® draw tools for lines and shapes.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

• The Instructions for Use slide give detailed directions on how to work with the Interactive Digital Notebook.
• All the slides provide more instructions and more information to the student in the SPEAKER NOTES section of each slide
• In addition to the SPEAKER NOTES, the ANIMATED SLIDE has a WEBSITE and VIDEO links to support student understanding of right angles, acute angles, and obtuse angles. The website is kid-friendly, trusted and reliable.
