This is a great project in which students design their own amusement park while applying their knowledge of the following vocabulary terms- point, line, line segment, ray, vertex, right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle, straight angle, 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, 3/4 turn, and full turn.
A checklist for students with the vocabulary words and definitions is included along with a rubric, in addition to a framed piece of paper students can use to draw their projects, as well as an early finisher extension.
Ideas for Teachers
-Use as an enrichment project, a review project, or an early finisher project; you could even have students work with a partner or in small groups to collaborate on an amusement park
-Feel free to use the framed paper or use plain computer paper or even larger construction paper
-As an extension, have students create multi-step word problems involving their amusement park to share with the class (included on page 3)
These would make a great student display of work!
