This is a historical introduction to England from approximately 0 C.E. to 1066 C.E. This PowerPoint covers the Roman occupation and the subsequent invasion by the Anglo-Saxon. The PowerPoint then examines the peculiar changes in the text of Beowulf that occurred when Christian scribes attempted to alter the text for their own purposes. The PowerPoint is 15 slides long and includes notes where appropriate. It also includes two maps of the relevant time period.
The material in this PowerPoint is scholarly and thoroughly researched. It is intended to be used with the "Beowulf" PowerPoint that is also available for purchase, although it can easily be used without that PowerPoint. You can also purchase this PowerPoint as part of the larger "Anglo-Saxon England & Beowulf" set.
If you would like to request a PowerPoint over a specific subject related to History, Writing, or Literature (of any sort), please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I cannot promise that I will be able to make the presentation for you, but if I have time or if I have something similar that I can modify for you, I will happily create it and make it available on this site for roughly the price scale I would otherwise use.
