NEW MATH TEKS:
This project is a culminating activity to be used after students have mastered the different types of angles and how to use a protractor to measure angles. Students will create an Angry Bird game using acute, obtuse, and right angles. Students will measure the angles using a protractor.
Students enjoy this lesson and truly see that math is used everyday in all things. My students enjoy this lesson because we begin by playing the games as well as discussing themes, architecture, and how math relates to the object of the game as well.
Students are able to make connections to every day experiences.
The kids design their own theme and identify the type of birds they want to use. They are encouraged to use as much math as possible including geometric figures, angles, design techniques, as well as creativity.
