I created this flow chart to help students navigate through angular and linear speed word problems. It is a simple formula, but they had trouble knowing when to convert, etc. The file is two pages, a blank flowchart for students, and one that has been filled in with the steps.
Here is a type of problem that this resource applies to:
"A wheel has an 18 cm diameter. The speed of a point on its rim is 9 m/s. What is its angular speed." OR something like: "A waterwheel has a 10 ft radius and revolves 12 times per minute. What is the speed of the river, in mph?
