Are you wild about books? Then, come have fun in your classroom or library media center by playing with literature! In Animal Acting, students play an animal charades game after reading a fun fiction book, Karma Wilson's Animal Strike at the Zoo. It's True!, about zoo animals. The charades game engages students in learning about animals before they conduct research with online resources or nonfiction books. After researching their animal, students play the charades game again and evaluate whether or not their skills have improved by learning about their animal.
This nine-page packet includes the following:
-1 title page
-3 pages with three lesson plans
-3 pages with animal cards (for random assignment during the game and research)
-1 graphic organizer
-1 self-assessment for students
I hope that you and your students have fun learning about animals through this dramatic play activity!
