This differentiated Animal Adaptations science, writing, and art project is a fun way to assess understanding of your study of habitats and animal adaptations. Students are assigned a surreal planet habitat and create a creature that would survive in the new environment.
This resource includes:
* lesson plan
* Planet Habitat description posters
* Planning and project pages
* Flexible grouping option
* QR code taking you to diorama construction directions
* Example of a completed project
You can finish this activity in one or two weeks, depending on the time you have available. I have included a suggested lesson plan. Each student begins with an assigned planet habitat and a planning page. Completing the planning page will help students do the design work of creating their new creature and describing adaptations that help it survive.
The final project is for the students to create a diorama, but creating a drawing of their new creature in its planet habitat will work just as well, and take less time.
