This product includes 5 science stations about animal adaptations. Students receive a station booklet and rotate to the 5 stations which are meant to take about 15 to 20 minutes.
Station 1: Students read a one page passage called about animal adaptations and respond to prompts in their station booklet.
Station 2: Students use research materials to choose an animal. They draw an illustration of the animal in their station booklet and list its physical and behavioral adaptations.
Station 3: Students test out three different bird beaks (clothespin, plastic spoon, and tweezers) to determine which beak is best!
Station 4: Students use the animals section of the National Geographic Kids website to find animals with specific adaptations to complete a table in their station booklet.
Station 5: Students play an animal adaptations board game. Each player chooses an animal and reads its adaptations. Players take turns drawing event cards. If the a player's animal has the adaptations listed on the card, they roll the dice and move.
The station booklet also includes a KWL chart and a word search for early finishers.
