Do you get tired of having to figure out random student groupings and pairings for activities? I absolutely do not like the look that students get and the focus that becomes non-existent whenever I say we are going to work in partners for said activity. Problem solved! These animal characteristic cards can be used to quickly put your students into partners or groups for any activity. A list of the MANY, MANY ways to group your students with these cards is included in the file!
Simply pass out a card randomly (or not so randomly) to each student. Call out a characteristic (or two) and have student find their partner or group. For younger kids you may need to say, “all elephants go to this side of the room,” “all zebras go to this side of the room,” etc.. To make the process go quicker. For older students, they should be able to quickly find their partner or group. Ideally, training your students at the beginning of the year to complete this process quickly is the best approach.
