Have fun with your animal vocabulary unit in any foreign language classroom! I have personally created the art for different types of human, animal, and insect parts (wings, noses, legs, faces, etc.)! Students simply select from the offerings on their form and draw or cut and paste. This file includes: 2 very different forms of 24 hand-drawn animal characteristics, with rubric and directions, and 1 sheet with a picture example as well as suggestions for use and grading. For more artistic students, they can bring their very own animal to life! This activity will take 1-2 class period, depending on the time and effort you allow them for their art and coloring and upon the language-learning level of the students. (I have included example expectations on the direction page.)
It's so easy and fun that my eight-year-old did it! You can use this to practice animal vocabulary in ASL, Spanish, French, German, Latin, Italian, Japanese, or any other foreign language! The rubric and my child's example- both in black and white and in color- are included! Special education kids can do this! Energetic kids can do this! That one over-the-top kid that everyone rolls their eyes at will LOVE this! Learn, practice, and have FUN!!!
