In my special education classroom I use pictures for everything. I do not have a curriculum for my students who have severe disabilities, so I make all of my own. I created this Animal Fact worksheet to go along with videos and books I use to talk about animals during our science instruction. I print out pictures of the animals we are studying and let the students choose which one they want on their worksheet. Then I use SymbolStix to print out pictures to fill in the answers to the questions I have on the worksheet. The students then use the picture choice to answer questions about the animals and glue their answers into the given squares. It has become a nice sheet to display in the classroom as well. The students get practice making choices, answering questions, and working on fine motor skills with cutting and pasting.
