This graphic organizer is a great way to help students match the characters of the book with the real-life people and groups they represent.
With this purchase you have access to a printable PDF form and two Google Slide files: one for the teacher (with answers and additional information) and one for the students with just the worksheets.
The graphic organizer is set up with a person/group from the Russian Revolution and a brief summary of their role on the left side of the page. The right side of the page is left blank for students to identify and explain the character that is similar to the actual person on the left.
For example, the first person is Karl Marx and his brief description includes writing the "Communist Manifesto" and saying it was inevitable the lower class would rise up and revolt. The right side is blank and should be filled out as Old Major. His description would include his dream for animals living freely and working for their own common good, and that Old Major predicted the animals would rise up and revolt against the humans one day.
You can use this as a guide throughout the book, or save it until the end as a refresher for the students before a quiz or test. Either way, it will help students to understand how closely Orwell's novel represents the actual events of Russia's history.
I have a similar product in my store that focuses on the EVENTS of the revolution and shows how each chapter (aside from 9 and 10) closely aligns to a specific event.
