This graphic organizer is a great way to help students identify all of the connections between "Animal Farm" and the Russian Revolution/Stalin's reign over the Soviet Union.
With this one purchase you have access to a printable PDF form and two Google Slide files: one for the teacher (with answers and additional information) and one for the students with just the worksheets.
The graphic organizer is set up with a summary of what happened during the revolution on the left side of the page. The right side of the page is left blank for students to identify what is happening in the chapter that is similar to the actual event on the left.
For example, the first chapter has the real events of Marx's predictions about a future rebellion and his publication: "The Communist Manifesto." After reading chapter one, students would then fill out the right side of the organizer and identify that similarly Old Major predicted a future rebellion and gave a speech about a sort of communist society for the animals.
You can use this as a guide throughout the book, or save it until the end as a refresher for the students before a quiz or test. Either way, it will help students to understand how closely Orwell's novel represents the actual events of Russia's history.
I have a similar product in my store that focuses on the PEOPLE of the revolution and shows how the characters in the book closely align to actual people/groups of people from the revolution.
