Product Description
This is a 41 slide PowerPoint presentation on the history alluded to in Orwell’s allegorical masterpiece, Animal Farm. I’ve always personally been frustrated with the common refrain that Orwell objected to socialism itself, rather than Stalinism. I tried to correct this popular error in the beginning and ending of the presentation. The presentation includes sections on George Orwell, Animal Farm's publishing context, the Industrial Revolution, Socialism, Marx and Marxism, Russia in 1917, Tsar Nicholas, Vladimir Lenin, the Russian Civil War, War Communism, Leon Trotsky, Stalinism and History Revisionism under Stalin. Images and colorful text abound!

This presentation is best delivered immediately after reading Animal Farm, but before analyzing the allegory in much depth. Please, of course, feel free to use it however you like.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I may be open to taking requests for similar presentations. Have fun! Cheers!

Presentation does not have animations. I find them annoying.
Images of street protests during the Revolution all include translations in the slide’s notes.
Vocabulary is targeted for a college prep or gifted audience. With work, it could be more accessible.
Presentation assumes Teacher familiarity with novel and historic content.
