This bundle consists of five separate packets that have been combined as a resource for helping students learn and understand animal habitats. The focus of these packets are on the rainforest, polar, ocean, and desert habitats.
Animal Habitat Sort (16 Pages)
This set includes 32 animal cards, which students sort into the correct animal habitat. As an extension activity students can share a fact that they know about the habitat or the animal as it is placed in the correct habitat.
Matching Game (optional activity) – Making a duplicate set of cards will allow students to use the game not only as a sorting game, but also as a matching game.
Animal Habitat Puzzle (26 Pages)
This set includes 30 puzzles and matching animal facts. The puzzles provide students with an opportunity to think about the animal that they are creating, while the facts provide or even confirm information about the animal.
Animal Habitat Show Me Cards (6 Pages)
This set includes 30 Show Me Cards for helping students learn animals and their habitats. In this Show Me Card activity students flip over an animal card, read it, and then share their animal habitat response.
Animal Habitat Reader (11 Pages)
This science reader is a resource for providing students with a basic knowledge of four animal habitats (polar, ocean, rainforest, and desert.) The text may be somewhat difficult for beginning readers, but it is simple enough that students should be able to partner read or independently read on subsequent readings. The content in this reader allows for discussion as students read/follow along with the teacher.
Animal Habitat Cup Sort ( 8 Pages)
Animal Habitat Cup Sort is a very simple sorting activity in which students take turns selecting a card, naming the animal, and deciding on where it might live. They also talk with other players about why this is a good habitat for the particular animal that they have. Then the student sorts the card into the appropriate cup. The set includes 4 labels, 3 pages of animal cards (30 cards), and 1 blank card page.
