Students will enjoy this fun introductory research project about animal habitats and adaptations. They will begin with a short vocabulary review before getting into researching about four animals. Students will look for information about the animals characteristics, food source, potential predators, and adaptations that help it survive. I have included a blank research page, so students can select four different animals to research.
Following their research, students will research any animal of their choosing and write clues. These clues should help a classmate figure out what animal was selected. To finish up this project, there is an Adaptations Bingo game with clues and pictures.
My students really had a blast with this project. We were able to group into groups of two and three and use devices to research. We completed the first one together and discussed how and what to write in a search to best locate the information.
The animal clues page was really fun and many of my students did more than one animal.
Adaptations Bingo is always a blast. We glued the game board into our science folders and play whenever we have five or ten minutes of free time.
Included is a color and black and white copy.
