This Animal Nonfiction Comprehension packet is a set of 18 comprehension pages to help students learn facts about various animals and the habitats that they live in. This set exposes students to nonfictional information and allows them to think about what they have learned as they answer the comprehension questions.
This packet focuses on animal within the rainforest, ocean, polar, and desert habitats. The following animals included in this set are the orangutan, toucan, jaguar, monkey, elephant, red-eyed tree frog, killer whale, dolphin, crab, fish, penguin, polar bear, Arctic hare, Arctic fox, camel, lizard, tortoise, and the hawk.
The passages in this packet all follow a similar pattern. They provide information about the habitat the animal can be found in, what the animal looks like, what the animal eats, and some other interesting fact about the animal. The questions follow the same pattern, with the first question being a fill in the blank response and the other being a response given in a complete sentence.
The packet also includes a list of internet references/resources that were used, which you can link to in order to get more information on the animals if desired.
