I print these cards out on cardstock, cut them with the paper cutter, and clip them together with a binder clip. I print enough copies for each student table to have their own. As soon as we start learning animals, students start using the cards to practice matching each phylum to an animal that belongs in that phylum. Any time we learn a new phylum, I give students a challenge activity to match the cards. Usually the student who comes in first will win a piece of candy or some other small prize!
