Primary students love learning and researching about animals. Use the webs and mini-books in this resource to encourage that love. Webs and mini-books for 36 common animals are included.
They can be used with any books or websites that you have available to you. (They work great with pebblego.com if your school has a subscription.) They are a very flexible learning tool, and there are SO many possible ways to use them. Here are some ideas:
1. Traditional research– Each student is assigned a different animal to research.
2. Animal of the week– Study a new animal each week (as a whole class or independently) all students complete a mini-book of that animal.
3. For early finishers– Make the webs and booklets available for students to complete when they finish their work. (Or if you have students who need additional challenge work)
4. Centers– Webs could be placed in your reading or computer center (depending on your research source), and mini-books can be placed at your writing center. This would be easy to incorporate with “Animal of the Week”.
Bonus: You also receive a blank mini-book template for additional animals. A large template version of the report (without animal clipart) is also included.
