Here are two cute and simple products to support the informational text, research and reporting skills you are teaching your students.
This compressed file contains an 8-page report (letter size) and a double sided brochure (legal size paper). The 8 page report allows for your students to report on any animal of their (or your) choosing. Pages are in black and white for easy copying for you and coloring for your students. They are NOT numbered, allowing you to rearrange, omit, or make additions.
Page 1: Name the animal, draw it, and list distinguishing features.
Page 2: World map with key for kids to show the animal's native location.
Page 3: Draw and describe the animal's habitat.
Page 4: Draw and label what the animal eats.
Page 5: Write or draw three interesting facts about the animal
Page 6: Complete a double bubble thinking map comparing their animal to another animal.
Page 7: Is the animal endangered? Why or why not?
Page 8: Describe in sentences ways to save and protect the animal.
Brochure: The legal sized brochure has the same sections listed above, but just in a condensed format. It can also be printed on standard size paper.
In my classroom, I plan on displaying the report pages on large poster board as a group poster report and then having student complete the brochure individually.
Hope you enjoy!
