UPDATED! January 2015
Description of pages:
Every year my students complete an animal research report. These pages have been adapted over time and newly revamped to correlate with Common Core. Here is a brief description of the pages included and how to use them:
Animal Report Notes: Each child in my class chooses and animal. I use this worksheet to have students jot down "notes" about their animal.
Animal Report Graphic Organizer: This worksheet is used after note taking. Students must take their "notes" and fill out the boxes on the graphic organizer with complete sentences.
Animal Picture Book Rubric: This is a kid friendly version of the rubric I use to assess my student's final piece.
Pages 6-13 of this pack are the final report pages. Students must complete the cover page and illustrate it. The table of contents is filled in with the headings from the report pages. About the Researcher is where the student writes a little description of themselves. Lastly, the glossary page is where the student chooses 4 technical terms to illustrate and define.
I hope you enjoy writing animal reports with your students as much as I do!
