Kids LOVE learning about different kinds of animals. After teaching about habitats, adaptations and food chains, use this project to allow students to find out more information about an animal that interests them.
The project asks kids to find the following information about an animal of their choice:
*At least one adaptation
*How the adaptation helps them survive in their environment
*If the animal is a producer, primary consumer or secondary consumer and what the term means
*If the animal is a carnivore, omnivore or herbivore and what that term means
*If the animal is a predator or prey
*What the animal eats
*What eats the animal
*Two fun facts
A graphic organizer is provided with three boxes to help students organize their notes. Each box can then become a paragraph in their final report.
Two pages of final draft paper are included as well as a paper for students to draw a picture of their animal.
Also included is a rubric you can use to grade this report.
I have used this project with my kids every year, and they love it! Once you use it with your class, please rate and comment. I love to get feedback.
