This project guide has all the materials your intermediate students will need to create an original magazine and 3-D model that reflect what they've learned about a specific animal! It will help them organize their research, ensure that all project requirements have been met, guide them through the research process, and engage them in learning that is FUN! The project is cross-curricular, integrating science, reading, and writing, and requiring higher-order thinking and inciting creativity.
Included in the bundle:
*Instructions and cover page for homemade research folders
*Parent letter describing the project
*Research Guide with guiding questions to help aid research on 6 topics to be included in project (adaptations, habitat, life cycle, characteristics, diet/predators & prey, & interdependence)
*SIX note-taking pages (one for each topic)
*A "Things to Remember" checklist & guide for creating the magazine, model, and bibliography
*Helpful websites list for research and creating parts of magazine
*A checklist of requirements specifically for each part of the magazine
*A bibliography template to aid in citing various types of sources
*A grading rubric for the final product to make assessment easy
*Photos of sample 3-D projects
Check out the preview to see samples of the the items in the project guide! I put all of the materials in a homemade folder for my students to help them stay organized (instructions and cover page in the guide). The folder goes to and from school daily since the kiddos were expected to conduct research at school and at home. Your students will love this fun and engaging project! It's always been a favorite for my kiddos!!! The 3-D models are my favorite!
