While students are going through the writing process and researching their animal, they can be in charge of their own writing by following this conference sheet. It is self reflection, peer reflection as well as teacher reflection on the student's work. They can simply put a check mark, or write in the box and their peer can as well as they read. The sheet has the student see their glows and grows. Glows being what is working well, and the grow is what they need to work on. There is a spot for the teacher to write the next steps, and a spot for the student to reflect on what they will do for their next Informational writing piece.
