This packet will help guide students through writing a multi-paragraph research report about animals. It features pre-made topics to help students focus as they are researching, including body, habitat, diet, life cycle, and interesting facts. It also has blank templates for students who want to create their own research headings. There is an opinion organizer to use as an introductory paragraph about why the student chose to research that particular animal. Each pre-writing page is organized to help students write an introductory topic sentence, four facts and details, and a concluding sentence. When students are done researching, their paragraphs will be ready for their reports. There are pages for a final published report that includes the following non-fiction text features: table of contents, headings, captions, index, glossary, and sources. There are publishing pages with pre-made headings aligned to the planning pages and blank ones for use as needed. To finish the report, students can complete an "about the author" page. This packet also features a lesson plan ideas and a page of online resources for student research.
