This animal research report provides structured graphic organizers with the goal of creating powerful sentences and four strong paragraphs:
• Paragraph 1 – Introduction
• Paragraph 2 – Attributes
• Paragraph 3 – Adaptations
• Paragraph 4 – Endangerment
The organizers provide space for students to record their research and synthesize their ideas into powerful sentences. Once research has been completed, there is a drafting organizer to create paragraphs, and a final draft writing template.
The report covers the following topics:
What does it look like? (size, color, body covering, body parts)
What can it do? (actions)
Where does it live? (habitat)
What does it need to survive?
What body parts and skills help it survive in this habitat?
What external factors are causing it to be endangered?
What steps should we take to protect it?
