My Animal Study and Observation Journal Page was created as a supplement to my Summer Daily Journal. The page is meant to be printed and brought to a zoo, aquarium, wildlife refuge, farm etc... The first page prompts responses about general species information like endangered status, habitat and social behavior. The second page is meant for a more in-depth study of an individual animal within the species. This includes an ethogram that records the animal's behavior over a 5 minute period. Print one or both pages. This is an excellent way to make a homeschool outing or field trip to the zoo more meaningful. Students can present their animal and behavioral observations as a trip follow up activity.
