C'est la Bataille des Animaux!!
(this games follows the rules of the traditional game of War.. but with French vocabulary and fun images).
There are 90 cards (10 pages) that can be cut out and played with. I recommend printing these on cardstock, if possible.
Educational Objectives & Tips:
Studies have shown that children learn best when they are having fun, and that is just what this game offers: fun vocabulary learning!
Designed by a language teacher, these cards are an inventive approach to traditional flashcards. They present a great opportunity for students to practice several vocabulary concepts:
1/ animals - 90 animal names, 10 animal categories.
2/ indefinite articles & gender concept
3/ numbers: 1-20
To make best use of these flash cards/ playing cards, students are encouraged to say the names of the animals (with articles!) and their numerical value in French as they play.
There is also a space under the name of each animal that can be used to write the English translation, or the phonetic pronunciation of the French word.
(11 pages total: 1 instruction page, and 10 card pages, with 9 cards on each page)
