Ten different familiar reptiles and amphibians (including a tadpole) appear in this set of cards. Realistic drawings from the Dover picture archive and other sources are used, not cartoons, and the typeface is carefully selected for readability by emergent readers. All words are seven letters or shorter. Use these for vocabulary building, reading practice, and writing practice -- or a science unit on reptiles and amphibians!

The PDF contains:
* 10 "word wall" cards -- large (four per printed page), single-sided cards with picture and word shown together.
* 10 flip cards -- cut, fold, and stick together to make double-sided cards. These are good for reading practice (read the word alone, then check the picture for help), or for vocabulary building (look at the picture alone and guess the word). Cut them up separately and use them for matching games: if you turn over two cards that match word and picture, you win that pair!
* Writing worksheet -- have students write the name of each animal beside its picture. Two variations are given: one with traceable letters already in the lines, and one without.
