THREE BOOKS THAT MEET FIRST GRADE NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS IN SPANISH!!
There are three books here. Same basic vocabulary, but three different levels for differentiating for language, reading level, or grade level.
The first book features habitats, diet, characteristics, and 13 different animals: el oso café, el zorro, el lobo, el oso polar, la marmota, el caribú, el alce, la foca, la morsa, la ballena beluga, el frailecillo, la liebre, y el búho. The last pages on all 3 books are for kids to fill the word in and illustrate.
The second features habitat and color, has the same basic pictures for animals, and pages at the end to fill in the missing words for vive, come, tiene (kids' choice).
The third features "aquí está en (habitat)", and has the same vocab pictures, but allows kids to draw pictures around the vocabulary items. It is a fun way to illustrate. Part of the picture is provided, and at the end there are still pages to fill words in and illustrate: ____ vive _____.
The format is simple, clean, and has a great font for early readers. The pictures are excellent, and copying is easy. Use all three levels in one classroom, cover the same thematic words, allow for different reading levels/goals. I have been asked by a lot of teachers to make more of these books! If you have a request, let me know and I'll add it to the list!
