The project is broken down into 3 parts: a written component, a diagram or display and an oral presentation. A detailed outline, plant terminology list, planning template, rubric, teacher evaluation form and parent note is included.
In the cross-curricular math unit, students will be invited to write about their choice of an animal using mathematical language. Students will explore how their animal ties in with a choice of three out of the following areas: Number Sense, Geometry, Measurement, Data Management/Probability and Patterning/Algebra.
An animal word list, planning template, sample, rubric and specialty writing paper is included with this unit. As well, a book cover is included should you wish to turn these student generated pieces into a class book.
