This unit allows students to study animal characteristics and habitats but have a little fun at the end by creating their own imaginary animal! This unit includes 5 lessons that take 5-8 days to complete. Students will study animal characteristics and habitats by playing an original matching game with 36 color pieces, making a clay animal and habitat box, and completing a language arts (noun, verb, adjective), science, and math worksheet. Each worksheet comes in three versions for low, middle, and high readers. The clay animal, habitat box, and imaginary animal lessons include 3 planning pages and a rubric for each part. Exciting addition! Check out student directions on Miz Lemonade Youtube Channel for animal and habitat projects.
