The Next Generation Science Standards want Kindergarden students to understand where animals live and why they live there, so I decided to make this little worksheet to encompass this requirement. Students match up the animals with their environments. It is important to let them know that some animals can live in two places and that more than one animal can live in the same place. After the students do this, you can have a discussion about "why" they live in those places. For example, the bird might live in a bird house, because it gives him safety and a place to build a nest. There is a little perch outside the house for him to stand on and look around. The dog can live in a dog house or in a house with his "family."
