This is a 3rd grade NGSS aligned mini unit. The mini unit starts with students watching short videos, observing different animals in groups. Then, students read and complete the interactive notebook. The interactive notebook covers TWO common core standards. Students ask and answer questions and use nonfiction text features to locate information. Students are able to access clickable links, and write within the document. There are 3 passages to find main idea and details. Then compare and contrast how animals form groups to survive! To assess the NGSS standard as well as address the common core standard of writing persuasive pieces, the final lesson is writing a persuasive paragraph using the information they have learned! This 1-2 day activity addresses SIX standards!!
