Your students will love learning about Hibernation with this engaging emergent reader. “It is Winter! Where are the Animals?” focuses on hibernating animals in winter! What a great addition to your science/seasonal units as students are exposed to this easy to read book. This book features the following animals: frog, squirrel, groundhog, bats, snake and a bear in their natural sleeping environment.
Within this package, you will find a 8 ½ by 11 size Big Book to print. I use this version to read aloud to my class and for shared reading. This book also goes into our classroom library where it proves to be a favorite! Also included are two black and white versions: one to use as a coloring book and the second is a cut and paste version where students need to cut out pictures of the animals and glue them into their correct sleeping environment. I send these books home with my students. I’ve also included a word search and matching activity to coordinate with this reader!
