Students will create either an essay or a multimedia project that compares “Annabel Lee” to another of Edgar Allan Poe’s poems or stories. Includes higher order thinking as well as separate student instruction sheets, with rubrics, for both options. Includes planning worksheet for brainstorming the points of comparison.
Essay and Multimedia Project guidelines each stand alone. Offer both to provide choice or differentiation. Or choose the appropriate format for your classroom needs.
The focus in this project is the comparison of elements. Students may need reminder to make sure a multimedia project is not a recreation/ retelling of the text, but a comparison.
