In our reading of the adapted play of the Diary of Anne Frank, the students take home some basic work to build their background knowledge of the setting for our reading.
In this resource, there is a 2-page resource with homework designated from Monday through Thursday. Each assignment is roughly five to ten minutes, asking students to do short activities such as color the countries that were involved in the Holocaust on a European map, discerning between "nationality" and "religion," which leads to a class discussion on misplaced prejudice - Judaism is a belief system, not a physical disposition, etc.
(For the Thursday night assignment, there is a reference to a timeline in our textbook and a page number. You'll need to change the page number and/or provide your students with their own timeline.)
