While reading "The Diary of Anne Frank" by Francis Goodrich and Albert Hackett, I have students write down character observations for each character in each scene in both acts. This product includes both the Chart for Act I and Act II, along with a brief description on how to use the charts (graphic organizers) for character analysis. Additionally, I've included four written response/essay prompts which you may want to use for final assessment. These prompts include questions on the changes in characters, character comparison, plot development/author's purpose, and the difference between static and dynamic characters. This product can flexibly be worked into most lesson plans, and easily takes the place of having students summarize each scene in the play in paragraphs.
