This packet guides students through a Socratic Seminar assessment of "The Diary of Anne Frank" play (or novel).
Instructions are included to guide beginning student through the preparation process of a Socratic Seminar. A rubric is also included on the front page for easy grading. This assessment is based on Standard's Based Grading and focuses on standard SL.8.1. I use this packet for 8th graders but it would be appropriate for 7th and 9th graders as well.
There is a section about survivor testimonies. This year, my students had the opportunity to listen to Mr. Ben Lesser, a Holocaust survivor. You can find survivor testimonies on the US Holocaust Memorial Museum's website or the Echos and Reflections website. Message me if you have questions about this.
NO ANSWER KEY IS PROVIDED. Because Socratic Seminars are supposed to be open discussions between students, no answer key has been provided. A GRADING RUBRIC IS INCLUDED.
