UNDERSTANDINGS

U.1.1: The Holocaust was a response to the Great Depression post-WWI using a popular anti-Semitic sentiment to scapegoat the Jewish population as the cause of the Depression.

U1.3: The Holocaust was a period of mass persecution of Jewish people under the Nazis.

U.1.4: There were individuals who actively fought back against the persecution of others during The Third Reich.

U.2.1: Individuals actively fought back by providing safety to Jews either through hiding or escape.
