This design is inspired by the beautiful Grimm’s wooden Annual Calendar Ring used in Montessori and Waldorf schools and homes. Its shape represents the cyclical nature of time, and it is my experience that this is the best calendar for very young children, who love to mark off each day with a special star.

There is no wrong way to use this beautiful calendar!
You can laminate it and mount it on a chalkboard or wall, or use it flat on a table. Print one for each child in your home or classroom, or print just one for all to share. Place magnets or Velcro on the back of the ornaments, or use a white board marker to mark off the days and months. Children love making their own ornaments to represent each month, and the empty space around the diamonds is a great place to put extra ornaments to represent something that happened or will happen in a particular week.
