An activity that focuses on the New Year's tradition of "las doce uvas de la suerte."
Students are tasked with writing a wish they have for the new year (good health, friendship, etc.) in 12 of the grapes. To find out which of their wishes will come true in the New Year they will roll 1 die six times and a pair of dice six times. For each number that they roll, they will mark off the corresponding grape. If they are able to mark off a grape, that means it is something they will be lucky in in the New Year! After they've finished rolling the dice twelve times (one for each strike of the clock) they will find out what good luck (marked off grapes) and bad luck (unmarked grapes) they will have in the New Year. Based on their results, they will answer three questions.
A simpler more English-based and more advanced Spanish-based version of the activity are included.
