From the TeachersPayTeachers store of speech-language pathologist Becky Mitchum, ANOTHER MONDAY: WHY NOT SMILE? is an original line of cards for you to download to cheer a colleague near or far. Download each for $1 once, use a million times for a million friends.
Every day can feel like a Monday, especially with difficult caseloads, students, or faculty/administration, but friends like you can make any day better! Original whimsical sketches with silly text bring a smile.
Download the cartoon to print on cardstock: it is outlined in black for easy cutting and pasting to your own blank card (you provide). You could also mount it on raised dots for a special 3-D effect. Blank cards with envelopes can be purchased at any craft store, along with the raised dots. In central Arkansas, for example, Hobby Lobby sells packs of 50 blank cards and envelopes for around $8, about .16 per card.
"Twirling for Chippy" is an illustration with text describing one woman's ridiculous strategy for cheering herself up when she feels down. Text reads: "Whenever Hiawatha Butke felt down, she would don her vintage ballgown and twirl for her guinea pig, Chippy. It was an utterly frivolous thing to do, she knew, but it was precisely for that reason her spirits would begin to lift."
The text appears to the right of the woman twirling for her guinea pig, and is written in an old typewriter style font. Boom. A one-of-a-kind card to show a colleague you've got her back and that life's too short to be serious all the time. Today may be Friday, but there's another Monday ahead: why not help someone face it with a smile?
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but sadness crushes the spirit." (Proverbs 15:13)
