From the TeachersPayTeachers store of speech-language pathologist Becky Mitchum, ANOTHER MONDAY: WHY NOT SMILE? is an original line of cards for you to download to cheer a colleague near or far. Download each for $1 once, use a million times for a million friends.
Every day can feel like a Monday, especially with difficult caseloads, classrooms, or faculty/administration, but friends like you can make any day better! Original whimsical sketches with silly text bring a smile.
Download the cartoon to print on cardstock: it is outlined in black for easy cutting and pasting to your own blank card (you provide). You could also mount it on raised dots for a special 3-D effect. Blank cards with envelopes can be purchased at any craft store, along with the raised dots. In central Arkansas, for example, Hobby Lobby sells packs of 50 blank cards and envelopes for around $8, about .16 per card.
"Like Uncle Boris" is an illustration with text describing one woman's innovative strategy for hiding a receding hairline. Text reads: "Hoping to eventually have her eyebrows long enough to camouflage thinning hair, Labette stopped waxing years ago in anticipation of the day she would be completely bald like her Uncle Boris."
The text appears below an illustration of the bust of a woman, in an old typewriter font. Boom. A one-of-a-kind card to show a colleague you've got her back and to remind her that life is too short to be serious all the time. Today might be Friday, but there's another Monday ahead: why not help someone face it with a smile?
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but sadness crushes the spirit." (Proverbs 15:13)
