Here is a fun way to get kids moving around the room and keep them focused on the task. Students become detectives and find shapes hidden in the room. On the shape is a picture. The student's job is to stretch the sounds and write the word on the recording sheet. The recording sheets are written in full sentences and students read back the sentences when they finish finding 8 hidden pictures.
I love hiding pictures in fun places like the ceiling and in the kitchen corner! Kids will love this and get excited about writing words and stretching sounds. Since they are doing this during center time, students can support one another in finding the hidden pictures as well as stretching sounds.
Included are 36 pictures to get you started; 18 black and white and 18 full colored. Cut a shape, tape the picture on, hang them around the room and copy the recording sheet!
A bonus blank sheet has been included. If you have a shape to cut out and attach the pictures to, you can fill it in yourself.
There are also templates for reading the room and finding spelling patterns.
