We all want students to turn a question into a statement because that sets them up for actually answering the question that was asked! These pages will help create the automaticity students need when answering any comprehension question. Use these workspace/strategy pages to give students the practice they need and some STEPS in the right direction for answering comprehension questions because there is a formula!
Students will copy a comprehension question provided by the teacher or the text, follow the steps provided on the worksheet, and then turn their notes into a formulated answer. Once the steps are internalized, formulated answers will come naturally!
-sample question, sample notes, and sample formulated answer based on notes
-workspace pages for practicing steps and formulating answers
-shortened version included for additional practice sans steps for scaffolding purposes or for assessment use
